As all things come to an end, this will be the finish line to blogging on this website. What was established the past few moths of blogging? This blog started based around the theme of stars and consolations., like the title hints to. Although this remained an interest of mine, I also took to writing more personal passages connecting myself with my reader. With so much going on in my everyday life, I found it easy to share experiences and interesting feelings on common issues. My blog started to become my place of deep thought where I could allow my deepest feelings to come out. By writing, you can express yourself. This blog has allowed me the ease and ability to reveal myself to my readers in the hopes of being that others will understand and connect the same way. Blogging has greatly strengthened my abilities as a writer and I plan to continue other blogging sites in the future. 🙂
AP Testing
•May 2, 2011 • 1 CommentFor the next two weeks, students will be taking thier Advanced Placement course tests. An AP test allows for a student to test on college material in the possibility of being exempted from taking that course in college. With this challenge, students work vigorously in order to meet the highest score, a 5. Unlike regular exams, an AP test covers an enormous amount of information. Not really knowing what to study more or less, it is your responsibilty to know everything, although extremely difficult. This year I am taking the United States History AP exam. This test covers U.S. history from the days of the Pilgrims to current day America. With so broad an area of study, it takes a lot of work and effort to plan studying methods and ways to remember the information. On top of the regular assigned work from school, AP’s are adding to the stress of the week. Good luck to everyone taking AP tests!
Prom..Only A Few Days Away!
•May 2, 2011 • 1 CommentSo after all the planning and preparation for prom, things are finally coming into place. Three months ago I remember thinking if I’d even want to attend prom, and now I am finishing all the last minute preparation. From dress shopping, to finding shoes and accesories, to setting up pre-prom, prom has brought about many difficulties that although are exciting, were challenging. Who would have knew planning a party would be so difficult? Now that it’s a few days away, I am excited to have an amazing time with my friends. Even though planning such a big night is a hassle, it will be worth it in the end after we all have a great night! This year I took on the challenge of having pre-prom at my house. I really don’t know much about prom, so if anyone has any advice on how to go about pre-prom please let me know 🙂 To everyone going to prom, have an amazing night..and there’s only one junior prom, so make it a night to be remembered 😀
Unorganized?
•April 9, 2011 • 4 CommentsThis year I really have let my organization become less important, which is effecting me in the long run. When you’re in a rush, you let things slide; like putting away clothes or organizing schoolwork. But if you don’t do it at the moment, when are you going to? It ends up in more procrastination and accumulation that you will have to deal with at some time in the future. By allowing things to accumulate to an unreasonable level, you will only be more stressed. For example, I have let my clothes accumulate in my room, and now with all the other things I must do, I don’t know how to find the time to take care of everything. Therefore you can easily avoid this if you take care of things right away instead of letting them become unorganized and hard to deal with.
Spring Arrives But Time Keeps Going…
•April 8, 2011 • Leave a CommentAlong with the change in seasons, my life, and everything is changing so quickly. You never realize how fast time goes until you look back and see that you’re already 3/4’s of the way through junior year, almost 3/4’s of the way through your total high school experience. This realization is quite scary because you think back to all the decisions you made. All the mistakes. All the amazing times. All the people who have made such a big impact in your life. And then you realize…you can’t rush time. I always wish for the next day to come…for the weeks to pass by as fast as possible. But really, you need to savor every minute because you may miss your chance to live fully through all these good times. The times you may spend just doing simple things with friends or normal daily activities may not seem important now but when you look back on it, you’ll realize how influential and important it was in your life. So notice the things around you now and don’t let them pass unremembered. You may not realize until much time has passed, but many of your greatest memories will be made in these years 🙂
Sleep
•March 29, 2011 • 1 CommentJunior Year = No Sleep. As work piles up and stress rises, I have noticed that my sleep time has lessened over the past few months. From waking up at 6 in the morning to nights up to 1:00 A.M. how is it possible to function? In the past few weeks I have seen this lack of sleep affect my overall health. No sleep results in a lack of an attention span and less concentration in class. So all this work at home may benefit in someways but is also negatively affecting school life. No sleep always means exhaustion and sick-like feelings. Without enough sleep in my schedule, I haven’t felt as well as I should. In all without the proper amount of sleep, it is impossible to lead a healthy life. Although it may not seem important, sleep is a leading factor to how your day will go by.
Leaving into College :O
•March 29, 2011 • 1 CommentAs the final months of the school year approaches, 2011 seniors are making their final decisions on where they will be going away to college! Having a close senior friend, I have witnessed the extreme stress of colleges throughout senior year. From applications to interviews to acceptance/rejections, the entire college experience is one that can be exciting but nerve rattling at the same time. By seeing my friend go through this process this year, I now know the burdens of senior year that await. The hardest part now is watching my friend prepare to leave and enter a place away from the normal high school schedule. You know when you are so close to someone that losing them seems not real? It’s like that in so many ways. Having you’re amazing friend leave a large part of your life is too scary to consider. I really will miss his so much ❤ But on another note, you need to be happy because college is a new start – a fun beginning. So no matter how hard it may be to hide the pain of missing a friend, you need to celebrate with them for it really is an amazing accomplishment! And when you have such a strong friendship, you know it will last 🙂 And that brings me to my last point…next year! Watching my friend experience senior year, I know what will come my way real soon. An intense year awaits..stressed already but excited at the same time? Who knows what will happen but everyday the class of 2012 comes closer and closer to becoming the new seniors 😀
“Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light.”
•March 22, 2011 • 2 CommentsThis line said by Helen Keller emphasizes the importance of having a friend by your side. Although it is preferred to walk in the light, solitude and being alone makes this seem undesireable. While on the otherhand, those who walk in the dark with a friend will enjoy much more. Having a friend by your side provides your own security and happiness. Think about all the times you needed a friend to get you through a tough situation. Late night calls crying because of a boy, or stress of making a decision. A friend is always there to help you make a decision and get you through any tought times. I honestly would not be able to survive without my close friends. They are the ones that pull me out of hardship and put a smile on my face even when it’s hard to be happy. A friend can always make you feel good and that is why having a friend by your side beats all other options. =)
What A Night :)
•March 21, 2011 • Leave a CommentSATURDAY NIGHT HOME…BORED…WHAT DO YOU DO? Having an amazing friend or two come over is the best way to make your weekend. Like a knight in shining armor, my friend came to rescue me from my boredom this weekend. When you’re sitting on your couch alone and get a text that someone is going to visit you, it kind of already makes your day. Just to have someone with you sharing the boredom together creates something that isn’t boring, but an amazing time. So what happened this Saturday night? My friends got to meet my very strange family x). If you ever walk into my house, you will encounter my crazy dog. So as shes jumping on top of everyone, I also have my mom asking my friend to fix her calculator, while my brother instructs them in pokemon. All of this = very amusing :D. But truely the best part of the night is just being able to sit and talk about anything. How one conversation can lead to so many laughs and smiles. And how you can just sit there forever going about the drama in our lives and laughing it off together. You can only do that with great friends. So overall the best Saturday night I could have asked for<3 Thank you to my amazing friends for making my weekend so great 🙂
Daydreaming?
•March 15, 2011 • 3 CommentsThere is an uncountable number of times when I’m concentrating at one moment, and then seconds later zoning into my own world. Fantasy and dreams are indeed better than real life. When I’m overly stressed or worried, I create my own world. Although a distraction at times, it helps me cope with the tramas of real life. Real life comes with problems and conflicts. You have to find your own solutions and work to reach them. In your own make believe world, you can create perfection and no worries. Imagine not having to deal with people trouble or your own internal conflicts? What a perfect world that’d be.That’s why your imagination can take you to a place of your own well-being. But how healthy is daydreaming? Although a source of relief, it is unreal. You can’t let your imagination take too much of your time for then you will lose all chances of making your real life the best it could be. So dream away, but live your real life at the same time!
